To encourage women’s participation in innovation and invention, the Taiwan Intellectual Property Office (TIPO) will launch the “Pilot Program for Accelerated Examination of Invention Patent Applications Filed by Female Applicants” on July 1, 2025. Under this one-year pilot program, accelerated examination services will be provided for invention patent applications filed by female applicants.

This program is only applicable to invention patent applications filed by natural persons where the applicant or one of the applicants is a female who is also the inventor or one of the inventors. Applications must be filed through the electronic filing system after receiving an official notice of entering into substantive examination from the TIPO and before receiving a first Office Action.

Once the request is approved, the TIPO will issue the first Office Action or an approval decision within six months.
