Does the applicant have to amend the claims under AEP? (2023/1/3)

The applicant does not have to amend the claims to correspond to the granted claims in foreign countries or the claims pending with EPO, JPO or USPTO. Because the claims have not been amended to be the same or narrower than those in corresponding foreign applications, if the claims filed with the Taiwan IPO (TIPO) have not been allowed in foreign countries, the examiner usually refers to the rejection reasons in the Official Letter in foreign countries and issues an Official Letter reciting similar rejection reasons.
