A Public Hearing of the draft amendments to the Copyright Act will be held on February 14, 2008
Due to the increasing internet infringement cases, amendments and augmentation to the Copyright Act were proposed to provide relevant stipulations and measures to eliminate the impact on the protection of the economic rights and the plate rights. The amendments and augmentation mainly clarify the responsibility of the internet service providers (ISP) in internet infringements and require any ISP to take positive action to remove infringed data to prevent continuation of damage to a copyright once notice has been received from a right holder
With reference to the opinions presented in the four meeting held in July of 2007, a draft of the amendments to the Copyright Act was completed and a first public hearing of the draft is going to be held on February 14, 2008 to gather more public recommendations.
