“2008 International Symposium on Campus Internet Management” jointly organized by Taiwan Intellectual Property Office (TIPO) and American Institute in Taiwan was held on February 28, 2008. The symposium was aimed to strengthen campus Internet management and the concept of protection on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) in schools.
Four themes were discussed in the symposium: 1. Establishing Policies and Measures for Campus Internet Management Mechanism; 2. Legal Issues of Campus Internet Infringements; 3. Analysis of Campus Internet Infringement Cases; 4. Establishing Comprehensive Internet Management Mechanism and IPR Protection Environment.
The speakers include experts and scholars from US Patent and Trademark Office, the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI), Ministry of Education, Taipei District Courts and domestic universities. About 300 people participate the symposium. The symposium is helpful in establishing an appropriate system for campus Internet management.
